Nektar - Night Gallery, Waukegan 1976

Nektar, for the first time on Soundaboard, was a group generally linked to the 70's prog rock scene and were in its origin composed of four British musicians who got together in November 1969 in Hamburg, Germany.
From 1977 onwards the formation changed and they broke up around 1982 having reformed in 2002.
This recording with the original line-up was played at Night Gallery in the city of Waukegan, state of Illinois.
The artwork refers to other shows also.

Grinderswitch - Bay Shore, NY 1977

The southern rock band Grinderswitch on a short set recorded at the Silver Dollar Saloon, Bay Shore on the tour for Redwing, their 1977 album.
Grinderswitch opened shows for The Allman Brothers Band, Charlie Daniels Band, Marshall Tucker Band and many other famous southern bands but never got commercial success and disbanded in 1982.

Frank Marino - Harpos, Detroit 1984

Another guitar master from Canada, Frank Marino had a successful career during the seventies with Mahogany Rush.
In the eighties Frank continued to released very good albums such as Juggernaut that I like particularly and as far as I know didn't have a proper CD edition, at least mine was sourced from the vinyl...
Two tracks from it are played on this show recorded live at Harpos, Detroit.
It would be nice to have a better copy, preferably complete, of this one.

Randy Bachman - Whistler Blackcomb, Canada 1993

Snowing at the top of the mountain, raining down below but Canadian Rock'n'Roll can't be stopped by weather, so here's Randy Bachman live at the Whistler Blackcomb, a popular mountain ski resort on north of Vancouver, Canada.

The exact date is unknown but it occurred soon after the release of the album Any Road. The opening track Prairie Town even comes in two flavours, the second being an acoustic version with Margo Timmins of The Cowboy Junkies.

I would like to remind all of you of how excellent Bachman's last album Heavy Blues (from 2015) is and recommend a visit to his official site where you can check for example his tour dates and who knows see him live, you lucky Canadians :)
