Roy Harper - Bloomsbury Theatre, London 1993

Roy Harper (with Nick Harper)
Bloomsbury Theatre, London 1993
The First Night (FLAC)
(This post is dedicated to DLP)

In January 1993 Roy played two shows at
the Bloomsbury. This is the first one.
A guru to his fans but with a tendancy to
wallow in his own almost painful sincerity.
I'm told it's an audience recording.
If so it's a bloody good one.
Let me know if you would
like to hear the second night.

Led Zeppelin - Complete Switzer Show (1980)

A show from the June 29th that was part of the In Through The Out Door European tour.
This gig in Switzerland at the Hallenstadion, Zürich is generally considered as one of their best performances for this tour. Unfortunately (unlike the name says) it is not complete since Kashmir fades out. Anyway it's the mighty Zep and just a couple of months before they disband.

The Tubes - N.Y. 1981/Dortmund 1983

The Tubes
N.Y. 1981/Dortmund 1983
FLAC/DVD

I'm a fan of the early more avant-garde Tubes
but I like all of their albums and they are
always good live. I saw the 'Wild West Show'
a couple of years ago and it was excellent.
First saw them in 1979 at the Manchester Apollo.
There was to be two shows on the same day,
a matinee & an evening performance. I had
tickets for both but could only persuade my
friends to attend in the evening. When I got
there, mid-afternoon, I found the matinee show
had been cancelled due to low ticket sales.
I got my refund and hung around for a couple
of hours until everyone arrived for the late show.
They were great! What do you want from life?

Titus

Scorpions - Tokyo 1979

Recorded on the Lovedrive tour at the Sun Plaza in Tokyo, Japan on the year 1979. The axeman Uli Roth left the band the year before and was replaced by Matthias Jabbs, this and the change of record label marked the start of a new musical direction on this German band's career.
Excellent sound on this show that I believe to be also known as "Into The Rock".

Titus Triple Bill: Slade, Grand Funk, The Runaways

Slade
Young Vic Theatre
London, England
April 24th 1975 (FLAC)

I remember buying Slade Alive when I was
just a kid and being amazed (and at first disappointed)
by how different they sounded compared to their
Top of the Pops persona. That string of hit singles forever
skewed the fact that they were actually a proper rock band.
I saw them at one of the early Donington festivals and
they brought the proverbial house down.

Grand Funk
The Forum, Los Angeles, CA
June 2nd 1974 (mp3 192)(sorry! - still sounds good)

Not a band I'm that keen on/knowledgable about.
I like the Good Singin'/Good Playin' album but must
confess it is the Zappa production & guest guitar solo
which first attracted me to it. I know they were
very popular in the USA during the seventies.

As a fully paid up member of the Kim Fowley

I view this recording as an important
historical document. I know I shouldn't
but I really dig the slightly dodgy drumming.

There were a few sound problems on the night
but they don't detract too much from the

Worth it for the 'Whole Lotta Love' medley alone.
It's a really 'warm' gig - I think I like this even
more than the San Diego show.

Dixie Dregs - Atlanta 1982

Dixie Dregs ~ Atlanta 1982
FM radio (FLAC)

Steve Morse & Co. doing their thang!
Hi-tech country tinged rock.
This was the year I discovered them.
I was leaving a record store with an
armful of albums when a brash cover
caught my eye.
It was their 'Industry Standard' LP.
A glance at the credits revealed that
it was produced by Eddie Offord &
featured special guest Steve Howe.
It was an expensive import but
I love Yes so I bought it.
Steve Morse in Kanasas/Deep Purple
doesn't work for me.
