Good Rats - Hempstead, NY 1981

Welcome the Good Rats in an event that started in 1979 and was held annually during the summer organized by New York radio station WLIR and titled Party In The Park.
I've seen different dates to this but recently spotted a flyer referring July 14 at Fireman's Memorial Park in Hempstead, NY.
I don't know about their studio albums but live they did quite a show having bass and drum solos and great guitar work provided by Bruce Kulick that joined the band in 1981.
'Regardless of the band’s lack of international fame, on Long Island there were surely defined as local heroes', a quote from ClassicRockHistory  where you can discover a list of 15 essential Good Rats songs, many of them played at this show.

Injun Joe is my favourite Good Rats song

Yes, is certainly one of the best. It was incomplete, I patched it with a version from a YT source but the tapes had different speeds so it isn't flawless.

Interesting. think I have a version of this somewhere

The patches were only on the last seconds of Injun Joe and That Ain't Right.

Hello,
Great what you share. This band didn't deserve the fame it should have. Really a great band. Studio album are fantastic except maybe "Great American Music".
Best regards,
drogos
