Max Webster - Commodore Ballroom, Vancouver 1978

Bonjour aux amis de malheur...
Nous sommes fous.
This introductory lines to the song Toronto Tontos pretty much describe Max Webster's music.
Classified as a Hard Rock band in Wikipedia, indeed you have Kim Mitchell's guitars all over, but they explore areas as art, pop or progressive rock punctuated by the out of this world lyrics of Pye Dubois.
Although they lasted less than a decade Max Webster were one of the best bands that appeared from Canada. Which in part was continued by Kim Mitchell in his solo career.
Here we have a good recording from the broadcast of their show in Vancouver on April 22, 1978.
Line-up:
Kim Mitchell - Vocals and guitar
Terry Watkinson - Keyboards
Gary McCracken - Drums
Dave Myles - Bass

Kim Mitchell has also made some good albums, the latest was The Big Fantasize released last year.
I used to listen to him online as a radio host on Q107, a Canadian classic rock station.
