John Cipollina Tribute - The Fillmore, San Francisco, CA (1989-06-26)

John Cipollina was probably best known for being a founder and lead guitarist of Quicksilver Messenger Service. After leaving Quicksilver he formed the Copperhead and later played with numerous other bands.
This the recording of a tribute to John Cipollina done just a month after his death, just aged 45.
A concert with many guests, just to name a few: Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Robert Hunter, Nick Gravenites, Gary Duncan, Greg Elmore, Chris Hayes, Dan Healy, Pete Sears, Terry Dolan and Spencer Dryden.
Thanks to Vinegar Joe for forwarding the files to me!

W.A.S.P. - Nakano Sun Plaza Hall, Tokyo, Japan 1986

Another exciting metal band in the eighties for me was W.A.S.P. I had the pleasure of seeing them live as they opened for Iron Maiden on the Somewhere on Tour.
This 47 minute long radio recording at Nakano Sun Plaza Hall Tokyo, Japan on May 1986 has songs only from their first two albums.
In November 2012 I saw them again on the 30 Years Of Thunder tour and it was really good.

Chicago Blues Fest 2003
05  5-30-2003:

“Whether you see him live or listen to him on record,
one thing is evident.  In a day when so many musicians play blues from a narrow perspective, the risky  musical outlook of
Charlie Musselwhite always broadens the musical scope.”

A band that I really liked on my teen metal years was Metal Church, in particular their two first albums featuring singer David Wayne.
The band is still a strong name in the metal scene these days and this year released Congregation of Annihilation, their 13th studio album.
Here we go back to June 2005 with an excellent show at the Waldrock Festival.
