Badfinger – Cowtown Ballroom, Kansas City 1972

Badfinger were a Welsh rock band formed in 1961 in Swansea that was influential on the 1970s power pop genre. It is estimated that the band sold around 14 million records.
This concert, recorded and broadcast by KSHE 95 FM in St. Louis while promoting the Straight Up album, presents the band's more power‑rock side.

Great band. The Paul McCartney penned hit 'Come and Get It' was a double edged sword for them. It was/they were successful but I think it made people think of them as a cover band. They were also signed to the Beatles' ill-fated Apple label which didn't help as it went bust. Badfinger were exploited/ripped off by their manager. Pete Ham commited suicide in 1975. Tom Evans followed suit in 1983.

A no-luck-at-all band, I read some of their sad story some time ago. The Straight Up album, which this tour refers to, was produced by George Harrison and Todd Rundgren.
