Lou Ann Barton was born in Fort Worth, TX, in 1954. She moved to Austin, TX, in the early 1970s and began getting gigs in the city's bars and music clubs. She performed with The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Roomful of Blues, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble
