There you have it, as always, my pick of the best albums of the year that just ended.
In 2023 we had new albums from such classic acts as Yes, Jethro Tull, Rolling Stones, Uriah Heep, Paul Rodgers, Pretenders, Foo Fighters, Alice Cooper and Metallica.
And yet, as good as some of them were, for me the most exciting albums are listed below.
Some are personal favorites, of the kind that rarely make bad or even mediocre albums: Rival Sons, Greta Van Fleet, DeWolff.
Others were discovered just few months ago but I will be watching them closely in the future: Creeper, Green Lung, Wytch Hazel.
The rest are artists that produced great quality pieces and continue to despise the motto 'rock'nroll is dead': Graveyard, Iggy Pop, Duane Betts, The Struts.
To start, a 4 minute clip with previews from tracks of my top 10 albums.

Thank you AtticRock and I will surely have a look to some of the list, Greta, Rival Sons, Struts, etc.
Here is my list for 2023, mostly looking back to the past.
1. Samantha Fish. Death Wish Blues, because it's Samantha and all what she does...
2. Wishbone Ash, Dates Live, they play Live Dates all the way around and it's fine. Good memories on this recent replay.
3 Motorhead Live at Montreux Jazz Festival, but they play Rock'n'Roll, as Lemmy says.
4. Rory Gallagher All Around Man Live in London, terrific, great, absolute master class.
5. Sophie Zelmani Live in China, celestial acoustic music from this arabic/swedish voice. Must be heard carefully.
And worst album ever in 2023, Neil Young Somewhere under the Rainbow. Neil should be ashamed to issue such a low quality recording. I was ripped 17 EUR for this last album from Neil I will buy blindly without first listening or downloading.
Best wishes to Soundaboard for 2027 !
Hey Derek, thanks for sending your list.
Motorhead at Montreux is excellent, by the way another live that I recommend is from the DeWolff called Live And Outta Sight 3, this dutch guys know how to play and improvise!
Will listen closely to Sophie Zelmani, the album cover is familiar :)
