Detective - Atlantic Studios, New York 1977

Detective was a good Hard Rock band that lived during the second half of the 1970's.
They signed to the Swan Song label, released there two records, and changed to Atlantic but disbanded before recording a third work.
This session at the Atlantic Studios was used as a promotional LP for radio stations and was never released to the general public.

IMHO I thought these guys were really good. Got the two LPs when they came out - very Zeppelin-ish - good solid '70s rock. Story was Page had something to do with them - played, produced, etc. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for this! I was hoping a live recording of Detective was out there somewhere and would surface

nice post... and it's Michael Des Barres on vocals, later toured in 1985 as singer in Power Station. also wrote some 80's hits, like Animotion's "Obsession", and acted in a bunch of movies and tv series (usually playing the cliched English rock star).

They remind me of Bad Company too, curiously another band that was signed to Swan Song.

Wow, what a lame description. Are you seriously ignorant of Michael Des Barres and his earlier band Silverhead?

Well, this post is not about Michael Des Barres or other members previous bands.
But maybe you have some unreleased Silverhead or other Michael Des Barres recordings that you want to share with us and along with it care to present us a biography of the gentleman.

Nice One! I thought they sounded a bit like "The Faces", especially the guitar playing.

Missing a song: in between number 3 and 4 should go One More Heartache. Almost 9 min long. Bummer.
