Muito obrigado. São sempre grandes discos.
check the date of this against The database in the official Carlos Santana site.
I think it's actually
1975-07-01
Olympia Stadium, Detroit, Michigan
that data base has no gig dates for may 1975
Amazing music, thanks a lot!! Love it!! :D
Hi,
is it possible to re-up flac?
thanks
I see most of Santana gigs are gone.
is it possible to re-up flacs in some spare time?
thanks
I think this might actually be the Beacon theater NYC Fm show, from Dec 1975 - the setlist is EXACTLY the same, and because it is not the full set played, the odds of the EXACT same songs being selected in the editing stage, for two different shows, make it unlikely.
I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure this is the Beacon Theater.
This concert was indeed at Rynearson Stadium, Ypsilanti, Michigan on the campus of Eastern Michigan University on May 25, 1975, regardless of the Santana database. I was there, age 19, and it was my first time seeing Santana and the only time I saw either Peter Frampton or the original Lynyrd Skynyrd. And though I've attended over 1000 concerts in my life, I've talked about this outdoor concert with friends every year since without fail. Certainly in my top 20 personal favorite performances in a lifetime of concertgoing.

I was there he held off the storm
This was the first concert I had ever seen. My older brother let me tag along. Great memories!
It was definitely at EMUs football stadium. I was a student and was chairman of the group that ran that show. We had 70,000 people there and a huge storm blew in when Santana took the stage. A few times, when he hit a chord lightening flashed in the sky. We had to stop the show and get people to lower ground. After it all passed, they went on to do one of the best live performances i've ever seen.
As a side note...we had Bob Seger play at Bowen Field House the night before they recorded Live Bullet at Cobo. Had a chance to talk with Bob after sound check that day. He was so excited because he knew it was about to explode them from being a regional act. We were their dress rehearsal. I got to shake his hand and told him it was long overdue. He made a big smile and gripped my hand before driving himself home to Ann Arbor that night.
Wow, great memories there.
Do you remember the storm coming in while Santana was playing? Best concert ever!
25 May 1975 is the true show date. There was a storm lighting hit near the stage; some sound equipment went out - Santana kept playing. Sunday - 12:00 P.M. my ticket cost 7$ USD
May 25 show was outdoors - audio should sound different than a theatre?
Love that show I was 17. Yes I remember the storm well. Right when the lighting hit an An amp stage left went. Unbelievable. The Hammond audio went in & out too. The Band kept playing. Really cool moment
I was there also, with my sister. Such a perfect day. Little did we know what we were watching, 3 GREAT groups. We sat on the ground with our legs crossed and got the worse sunburn on our kneecaps.
I can't confirm the date (may be able
to find my ticket stub) but I was there. Soul Sacrifice with Mother Nature on percussion was unfrickenbelievable. I will never forget that show.
I was there! I was 15. It was like a mini Woodstock! Is there any footage?
I was there and it was epic. He did hold the storm off and it was a typical wild 1975 all day festival Michigan style. The day was capped off with our car being towed but we powered thru just like Carlos.
Yes, yes. I grabbed my sister and went, spur of the moment. It was so crowded, we were sitting on the grass with our knees up and they got so sunburned we could barely walk. It was heaven.
What a great concert.. the PA system for Skynyrd sucked, we were real close to the stage and could barley hear them, ronnie van zant said " where did you get this PA system? Sears? Turn it up or we're leaving! They played 1 more song and he kicked the monitors off the stage as they left !! Framotons camel was excelent. Storm moving in..dark clouds..thunder, lightning as Santana played.. fucking kicked ass. 46 years ago.. seems like yesterday
No way.. outdoors, Ypsilanti. Storms. 70,000+
Damn straight
