Judas Priest - Sweden Rock Festival 2004

After Rob Halford rejoined Judas Priest in 2003 they did a tour in Europe the year after.
One of the dates was at the 2004's Sweden Rock Festival headlining the first day. They will return there in the next June 5th as headliners again and most probably playing the new double album Nostradamus.

Hi Fellas,
First of all, congrats for this excellent work of share all those fantastic bootlegs.
But I have one question: What's the criteria to attribute the Sound Quality? It seems to me that 9.5 for this audio is too much benevolent.
IMHO, its audio quality is poor (even considering it's a bootleg). Anyway, it's historic and worths.

Halford can't sing anymore. He's been going downhill since about 1981. His early work with the band was fantastic. Saw them a couple of years ago & Rob backed out of every high note. Still enjoyed the show though. Atticrock rates the sound quality - it's an individual thing I guess. I never bother, that way I hope the listener will be pleasently surprised.

Hi zm

I appreciate your comment.
The sound quality rating is entirely subjective, its only my personal opinion and it's there just as an indication.
When I give 9.5 or 10 I consider its quality to be very near to an official release.
In this Priest show I confess I wasn't certain of what to give, but I still think its very good.

Cheers

Ok Titus this is not Unleashed but Rob still achieves some high notes although its undeniable that he protects his voice in most songs...

C'mon AR
He's a burnt-out wreck of his former self and you know it!

I agree with your sound rating. Very close to release quality. Thanks for all you do.

Thanks, it's great to see some appreciation :)

Hey AR,
appreciation? - yes!!!
I'm currently into Echolyn - have you heard them?
As a balance to the recent 'heavy' posts how about this?

Steely Dan
Rainbow Theatre, London
May 20th 1974
From a radio broadcast

Excellent early Dan with blistering guitars
from Denny Dias & Jeff 'skunk'Baxter.
It's coffee-table jazz rock
& I love it!

Bodhisattva
The Boston Rag
Do It Again
Brooklyn(Owes the Charmer Under Me)
King of the World
Rikki Don't Lose That Number
Pretzel Logic
Dirty Work
Your Gold Teeth II
Reelin' in the Years
Show Biz Kids
This All Too Mobile Home

'My Old School' was also played but it had a large chunk missing out of the middle, possibly a tape flip, so it is not included here. I found it annoying & also realised that without it the show would fit on one CD.
mp3 at 192kbps
(that's how I got it so should be OK even if your name is Bruce or Sheila)
My fantastic artwork is, as always, included.
P.S. I'd give it 8 out of 10 - do you agree?

Hi Titus

Never heard Echolyn but i read they are influenced by Steely Dan which is a band I don't know very well but if the guitars are good it's worth for sure:)
I just saw something in the files that I wanna discuss, can you email me? Thanks.

Um, the password isn't working...whenever I try and open the file it tells me the password is incorrect...

Please try again, it has been downloaded more than one hundred times and no one complained.

Ah, I got it to work. Usually I just copy/paste the password, but for some reason that didn't work this time, so I just typed it out and it worked.

Anywho, great blog you've got here!

I'm afraid I will go and spend thousands of hours on this blog for the next couple of years, with all these fantastic, improved, complete or almost, hard to find, concerts... Maybe I'll get fired and my girlfriend will leave me because I'm always on this site, no matter !

Thank you so much for having mixed together the several broadcasts, great job of editing !

Well this post is from June 2, 2008 so it's natural that the link is gone.
