Shakin' Street was a French band who had on guitar Ross the Boss (ex-Dictators and future Manowar) and Fabienne Shine as vocalist. They only recorded two studio albums, the last one being produced by Sandy Pearlman(B.O.C.).
This recording has songs from both albums and was made at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco for a broadcast on KALX from Berkeley.
Unfortunately the vocals most of the time reach distortion but if you can handle that it will be enjoyable.

Thanks AR,
looking forward to hearing this, even with distorted vocals. I imagine this could well be the only live recording of the original band.
Titus
Hi Titus
They have 2 live albums as I found out on this page:
http://shakinstreet.maxximum.org/
I guess they should be extremely hard to find though.
I'll look for them. To be honest I don't even have the second album! At the moment I am desperately searching for anything by David Roter. Do you know him? I've only got the 1998 Cellsum Night bootleg.
Titus
Never heard of David Roter but I just read he was one of the co-writers of "Joan Crawford", a great song.
So what's his music like?
Next week I'll send you an email with links to 2 Shakin Street albums that I just found on my HD :)
Hello AR
David Roter also wrote 'Unknown Tongue'. I've read that he could well have been more involved in BOC but his lyrics were often unsettling. He has been compared to Zappa in this way. Only heard the short set from 1998's Cellsum Night Showcase, but I like what I hear. His albums are hard to find. David died a few years ago after a bone marrow transplant. He had a type a leukaemia.
BTW Have you heard the Buck Dharma demos?
Titus
This isn't the original band. It has Ross The Boss on guitar. You can buy one of their live albums from www.cdbaby.com
Thanks for the share. It sounds much better than I thought it would. What's with the crowd though? I saw these guys live and they were very high energy. I can't imagine people standing around as quiet as they are.
Waldo
I haven't heard any Buck Dharma demos, it has something to do with his old solo album?
Thanks for the info Waldo, this being a Broadcast recording they probably didn't put much gain to the audience micro...
You can hear how the band sounds today at www.myspace.com/shakinstreet1.
New CD to be released in November.
Check out the filming of their concert at the Sweden Rock Festival there as well.
Anders
Thanks for the news Anders.
Thanks for the concert posting AR. BTW the Buck Dharma demos covers his years with BÖC as well.
Anders
