Styx - Winterland Arena, San Francisco 1976

Styx recorded during the Equinox Tour '76 on a show at the Winterland, the emblematic arena in San Francisco that saw it's name on several live albums.
The band is in top form but this recording could use some mastering, the sound although clean is quite dry and poor at lower frequencies.

V.A. East Coast Blues Summit (2011) Feat: Morgan Davis, Matt Andersen, Garrett Mason, Linda Carvery, Carson Downey, Kim Dunn

East Coast Blues Summit:
Morgan Davis, Matt Andersen, Garrett Mason,
Linda Carvery, Carson Downey, Kim Dunn.

Recorded: Mar. 10, 2011

Venue: CBC Studio 1, Halifax, NS

The Canadian East Coast has been a hotbed of blues music for,at least, the past fifty years. Many styles and influences...country blues, swing, urban and jump, to name a few, have contributed to what is now an east coast sound and approach.

CBC in the Maritimes decided the time was right to showcase this wealth of blues and to produce a musical special for radio, television and online. The East Coast Blues Summit brings together those influences, styles, and an incredible group of Maritime singers and musicians on one stage performing some of the music that inspired them as well as originals.

Matt Andersen, Morgan Davis, Linda Carvery, Garrett Mason, Theresa Mallenfant and Carson Downey are all award winning artists with deep blues roots and emotional delivery. The band is a special group of players, all being recording artists in their own right.

From the very first notes of rehearsals right through to showtime there was an atmosphere of excitement and joy to be playing together.
I recorded this from a CBC radio/podcast show
as a wave  cut track with Audacity

Walter-Trout - Live Jazzbones, Tacoma, WA. 2004

Trout's career began on the Jersey coast scene of the late 1960s and early 1970s. He then decided to relocate to Los Angeles where he became a sideman for Percy Mayfield and Deacon Jones. He also worked in the bands of John Lee Hooker and Joe Tex.
In 1981 he became the guitarist for Canned Heat.] This led to an invitation to play in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers where he shared the stage with fellow guitarist Coco Montoya. He left the Bluesbreakers in 1989 and formed the 'Walter Trout Band' which developed a successful following in Europe.
In 1994 the official Walter Trout Fan Club for the Netherlands and Belgium was founded, followed in 1996 by the official International Fan Club which has members in 14 countries in Europe, America, Asia and Australia. In 2006 the official International Fan club celebrated its tenth anniversary by giving fan club members an exclusive live CD recorded in Las Vegas, Nevada, which was the last performance of the late bassist, Jimmy Trapp, who died in 2005.
In 1998 Trout released his self-titled US debut album and renamed his band 'Walter Trout and the Free Radicals' (later renamed 'Walter Trout and the Radicals' and currently simply 'Walter Trout'). Since that time Trout has been recording and touring in North America, Europe and India.

Billy Squier - Salt Lake City 1984

This was recorded at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City during the tour of Signs of Life, the fourth album in Billy Squier's career.
I counted five tracks from it and on a side note the last one, Rock Me Tonite, had a promotional video that Billy himself considered as the main cause for a derailing on his career, so bad it was!
The rest of the song listing is composed of some classics including some of my favourites like In The Dark or The Stroke.

Commander Cody Live Rotterdam 1973-08-28

Little bit of the 70ies!

Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen
is an American country rock band founded in 1967. Core members included founder George Frayne IV (alias Commander Cody, born 19 July 1944, Boise City, Idaho) on keyboards & vocals; Billy C. Farlow (b. Decatur, Alabama) on vocals and harmonica; John Tichy (b. St. Louis, Missouri) on guitar and vocals; Bill Kirchen (b. 29 January 1948, Ann Arbor, Michigan) on lead guitar; Andy Stein (b. 31 August 1948, New York) on saxophone and fiddle; Paul "Buffalo" Bruce Barlow (b. 3 December 1948, Oxnard, California) on bass guitar; Lance Dickerson (b. 15 October 1948, Livonia, Michigan; died 10 November 2003, Fairfax, California) on drums; and Bobby Black on steel guitar.
The band's style mixed country, rock 'n' roll, Western swing, rockabilly, and jump blues together on a foundation of boogie-woogie piano. It was among the first country-rock bands to take its cues less from folk-rock and bluegrass and more from barroom country of the Ernest Tubb and Ray Price style. The band became known for marathon live shows.

Joe Cocker & Grease Band - BBC Radio Sessions 1968

A little taste of the 60ies this time !

R.I.P
John Robert "Joe" Cocker, (20 May 1944 – 22 December 2014)

The Grease Band
was a British rock band that originally formed as Joe Cocker's backing group. They appeared with Cocker during the 1960s, including his performance at the Woodstock Festival in August 1969.[1] After Cocker formed the Mad Dogs & Englishmen band, the group released two albums without him in the 1970s.
Their keyboard player was Chris Stainton, another Sheffield born man (known to his friends as Robin) who went on to tour extensively with Eric Clapton. Bassist Alan Spenner and rhythm guitarist Neil Hubbard went on to play in the UK white soul band Kokomo; following this, Spenner worked in support of the late 1970s/early 1980s incarnation of Roxy Music. Drummer Bruce Rowland later joined Fairport Convention.[1] Henry McCullough was the Grease Band's lead guitarist, a role he later occupied in Paul McCartney's Wings
