The Kinks: 31-12-1980 New York

A high energy show from The Kinks live at the Palladium in New York.
Great sounding FM broadcast recording.
In the middle of track 7 from disc 1 there's a happy new year voice-over, kinda natural since this concert took place in the 31st of December and the new year was coming.
There's also a cut in track 5 of the 2nd disc, apart from that it's a complete rock'n'roll fiesta!

Are all your files LOSSY formats like MP23 etc?

If these are soundboard recordings I'd imagine you'd want music lovers to enjoy that at full resolution or rather in LOSSLESS quality, ie FLACs, AIFF, WAV.

THanks for sharing, just hope you can upgrade your shares, would be awesome.

Hi John glad you liked it :)

Hi Anonymous
Yes, all files here are MP3 with its bitrates being 256 or 320.
I would be happy if i could share in lossless format but the size of these files is in the minimum 4x the size of a MP3 file. Being my upload speed something like 16Kps i guess you see my limitations.
And considering that i only share shows with good quality (not audiences for example) i sincerely don't hear a BIG difference between the original and the lossy files.
Anyway thanks for the input on a rather important issue.

Agreed with John -- I'll gladly accept any Kinks, lossy or otherwise! Great site, man...

Mr. AtticRock, cá estou para novamente fazer um outro pedido: Queen - Rock in Rio 1985. Eu tinha esse arquivo mas o perdi, infelizmente. Poderia postá-lo por favor???
Muito obrigado
Grande abraço
Loyola

Who's the Bass Player on this tour? Jim Rodford? Such solid "bong rattling" bass playing.

Great show. Thanks for sharing!!!

AtticRock said...

Yes, I believe its Jim Rodford on bass.

Thanks for this upload, but my RAR extract program is asking for a password for the files for this Kinks show, but I don't see one in your post.

AtticRock said...

That is very strange, these files don't need password.

Hello AtticRock, you do realize that when it requires password they've given it to you I believe on the Soundaboard page just below where you clicked link it says pass: (usually something.com) you type that whole string in and it should work

AtticRock said...

That is not the case of this Kinks files, these were uploaded recently and don't need password.
I gave up usings passwords some time ago...
