Molly Hatchet: Florida 1980

One more from the south.
This is Molly Hatchet with Jimmy Farrar on vocals on a very interesting period for the band, I really like the album Beatin' the Odds and you can find many of its tracks played here live.
This gig took place in the last day of the year 1980.

Sound quality: 9

Track List:
01 Announce
02 Bounty Hunter
03 Let The Good Times Roll
04 It's All Over Now
05 Gator Country
06 Dead And Gone
07 Few And Far Between
08 Dreams
09 Good Rockin' Tonite
10 Flirtin' With Disaster
11 Beatin' The Odds
12 Crossroads

So what happened to the covers that were supposed to be included?

AtticRock said...

What happened was this:
They were included in the first post, then the files were deleted and when I did the 2nd upload they were left out.

First you have to download both files to the same folder, then extract the files from there.

Although I haven't yet gone after this one yet, it'll certainly be on my list as I was at this show (and a great many many more in the Tampa/St.Pete/Lakeland concerts between 1979 and 1982. I always felt that Jimmy Farrar got a poor shake from people who didn't care for the way he looked and were smarting due to the departure of Danny Joe Brown during that time. The truth be told; Beatin The Odds was a a damn good album and Jimmy was a damn good singer. I was about 20 feet from the stage for this show. Hatchet kicked ass, and I was proud to be in their company. I miss those days of festival seating (standing) and a floor littered with whiskey bottles. Long live "gator country"!

One of my fave Hatchet shows.Unofrtunately its not complete though .To hear the rest of the show you need to uhave the official EP that was included free with the limited edition version beating the odds.(the quality is awesome of these tracks) the tracks missing are:
'Rambler, Sailor, Penthouse pauper and Double talkin fool'. I've actually mixed them all together in order and have a complete show which is KILLER.

AtticRock- thanks!
I grabbed the '84 Hatchet, and am snagging the '80 show now. If I were to comment somewhere, and begin with "DO NOT SHARE" would that be a good way to send you a private message?

thanks again,
The Cheeb
