Sweet – Santa Monica, CA 1976

The Sweet was an influential band during the 1970s, its music distinctive with an unique blend of hard rock, glam and pop.
This recording was on their first U.S. tour, billed as the Give Us A Wink Tour, which culminated with a sell-out show on 24th March at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium.
On the encore they played Free's All Right Now and were joined on stage by Ritchie Blackmore in tribute to Paul Kossoff, who had passed away just five days prior to the concert. Kossof's band was supposed to be the opening act and were replaced by Sammy Hagar.

Got that one at the beginning of the internet, when downloading wasn't yet possible, but you sent out money with the hope to get a cdr by return. Not a bad soundboard this one, even if the voice are too high in the mix and the rest of the instruments are far behind. But hey, it's the Sweet at their best anyway... Thanks for sharing this one,
Greetings from Paris,

That's right, Derek. I was about to mention the unbalanced mix in the text but it was already too long :)
