Steppenwolf - The Bottom Line, NY 1981

John Kay & Steppenwolf at the famous venue The Bottom Line in New York.
It's an incomplete recording of a radio broadcast, according to the person that shared it the first three songs had extensive analog distortion and therefore were omitted.
Still, what we have is very good, shows quite a cohesive rocking band.

Jack Casady & The Degenerates - Riverside Church Theatre, New York 1989

Check the great lineup for this one: Jack Casady, Jorma Kaukonen, Danny Gatton, Billy Windsor and Dave Elliot.
On this date they played acoustic and electric sets and we have the latter shared here, a soundboard recording quite appropriately with a prominence of the bass guitar in the mix.
Quoting the poster for the show:  "Join us for a special night as Jack Casady presents a retrospective of a twenty-six year career as one of rock's primitive creative talents".

Levon and the Hawks Onyx Club, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 1965

Onyx Club, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

In early 1964, the then-current lineup of Ronnie Hawkins' backing band
The Hawks quit en masse and went "solo" as Levon And The Hawks and briefly
as The Canadian Squires.
The lineup was Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, Garth Hudson, Robbie Robertson, joined by Jerry Penfound and, briefly, Bruce Bruno. In 1965 the group, as a 5-piece, was recruited to back Bob Dylan. Helm left this tour later the same year and was variously replaced by drummers  Sandy Konikoff, Bobby Gregg, and Mickey Jones . Helm would rejoin the group in Woodstock in   1967, and they would rename themselves The Band in 1968.
And as they say, the rest is history!

Great quality for 1965 live !

It was 15 years ago today...

...Soundaboard shared some music for you to play
They've been going in and out of style
Never imagined it would be so worthwhile

This blog has reached this age just because you readers keep visiting, downloading and commenting (sometimes). Without that response it wouldn't make sense to exist.
A word of special thanks goes to my partner Rippin´ Frog that started sending stuff to share here around November 2012 and in August 2014 began making his own posts 'til this very day, even passing some incredibly difficult times for him health-wise!
Also a special note to Vinegar Joe, who for some years now has been sending tons of great stuff to share.

And to all of you thanks for being aboard, keep on Rocking!

Framed Soundaboard logo from back in the day

A celebration without music wouldn't be a real one so here's a show played the same day as Soundaboard's first post:
