Kim Mitchell - Oshawa 1984

We have had Max Webster on this post, now it's time to hear a show from Kim Mitchell, former lead singer and guitarist from Max, in the same year he released the acclaimed Akimbo Alogo, his first solo LP.
This was recorded for broadcast on The Big Ticket, a program from the Canadian music television channel MuchMusic so expect excellent quality although not the complete show. A great performance, in the Max Webster's line of quality, that makes me wish i had the complete concert.

Two from Titus

This post is a double dose of music kindly uploaded by Titus.
Let's start with Judas Priest from 1978:

Judas Priest
Tokyo 31/7/78 (soundboard)

I have heard the 'Red Hot Tokyo'
show that is circulating. I think this is better.
I love 'Unleashed in the East'.
I think this is better.
From what I can tell Priest played four shows
in Japan in 1978. Two were in Tokyo.
I can find no date for 'Red Hot Tokyo' so I
assume it's from the other Tokyo show.
There are only six songs but for me JP
never sounded any better than this.
Les Binks is a fantastic drummer - check out
his playing on Roger Glover's 'Butterfly Ball'.
Ian Hill is as solid as ever - nobody ever mentions
him. He should get a Lifetime Achievement
award for 'Keeping a low Profile'.
KK to the left & Glenn to the right
with crisply crunching guitars from the days
when Rob Halford could REALLY do it.
("Do what?" I hear you snigger)

White Heat, Red Hot
Victim of Changes
Beyond the Realms of Death
Genocide (best ever version?)
Tyrant
Starbreaker

N.B. I have a sneaking suspicion that
'Starbreaker' may be from a different source.
It's in wav. with new covers
exclusive to soundaboard.
Regards.
Titus

Link (long gone)

Ok and now for something different, a prog-rock band called Volunteers, a personal recomendation from Titus. Try it!

Volunteers are a UK based band led by singer/lead guitarist Paul Bibby. Paul has been creating music for over 25 years. This album is a sample of songs from various recordings and features many different musicians. I play bass on two or three songs and wrote the words to one. Several of the tracks were recorded at my home studio. Paul has an original approach to music but, to give you an indication, he is very fond of Captain Beefheart & King Crimson.
So NOT for the faint hearted.
Artwork is included and it's all FREE!

The Red & The Black

Eric mentions a cable broadcast although
I believe this is an audience recording.
This is a strange sounding show. In parts the rhythm
guitars are almost inaudible. Eric's singing on 'Take Me Away'
is well off key. He does complain about the monitor sound
prior to this. It's also far too tinny for me, so I did a bludgeon
remix. Nuthin' fancy - just made it fat & let it blow!
It works better for some tracks than others.
320kbs + cover art.
I've also included artwork for the BÖC Paris 1989 show.
I'm planning a blugeon remix of this one too.
Nuthin' fancy - just fat 'n' blowy!
Let me know if you'd like to hear it.
I have, of course, provided a link to the untouched version.
N.B. The remix has a choice of intros.
The full monty for those who like to build up the tension
& a shortened one for those who just can't wait.

Genesis - Montreal 1974

For those who missed it in the comments here's another Genesis in the seventies generously offered by Titus.
Check out reviews for this show here.

Here is Genesis live in Montreal 1974:
Peter Gabriel & the boys are in fine form on this excellent
FM show from the 'Selling England by the Pound' tour.
All the usual 'stories' are spoken in French.
These posh lads are fluent.
If you don't have it - get it!
Just check out that setlist:

Watcher of the Skies
Dancing with the Moonlit Knight
Cinema Show
I Know What I Like (in Your Wardrobe)
Firth of Fifth
The Musical Box
Horizons
The Battle of Epping Forest
Supper's Ready

(Tony Banks struggles through the piano intro to 'Firth'
which was eventually no longer included in live performances
of this song. His work on the early albums is nothing short
of genius but it has to be said - he is ALL right hand.)

Ripped at 320kbs with brand new covers
exclusive to soundaboard.
