Gong - Oslo 1974
ambient SBD (FLAC)

Decent sounding boots of 70's Gong are rare.
This one is pretty good & was recorded
during Bill Bruford's brief stint with the band.
He'd replaced Laurie Allen who was unable to cross
some European borders following a drugs bust.

Montrose
KSAN San Francisco 1973
FM source (FLAC)

Montrose before they even had a name.
I'll bet Ronnie had one in mind!
I have two versions of this, one I DL'd
& one I was sent on CD. The latter sounded
slightly better so that's the one you're getting.
Some slight drop-outs in 'Bad Motor Scooter'
but generally the sound is reasonable although
the radio station compressed it to death.

Titus

Hey Titus,
Is the Santana show the Ludlow's Garage (10-21-69) recording by any chance?

That's correct srcstcbstrd. A jolly nice one but sounds like you already have it.

Hello from Canada and thank you very much for the Santana music. I love Santana from this era but have not found much good recordings. You have a great blog - I look forward to checking it out often. Keep up the excellent work!!

Thanks musio*52 & welcome aboard. I hope to post more Santana soon but I don't think I have anymore decent shows from this early period.

Thanks a lot for the Montrose gig.
There aren't that many of them available.

Hey Titus,
If you are interested, you can try doing your magic with these two early Santana files. Both at 192kbps (I wish the bitrate were higher).

Make musio a happy customer.

srcstcbstrd, I have the Santana 1970 Capitol Theatre show in FLAC format.
If you wish I'll put it here and maybe Titus will take care of the sound from this better source.

I'll listen to the mp3s at the end of the week. You both seem convinced it needs work. If I think I can improve it I'll use the lossless version of course.
