Santana - Capitol Theatre 1970

An evening with Santana, on October 14th, just a few days before the acclaimed Abraxas release, in fact most of the album is played here.
This is one of the two shows performed on this date at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, a mono soundboard with some tape hiss.

yes there is a bit of hiss but this show is good & I think best left as it is.

I always liked this unbalanced recording because the percussion is louder than everything else! Carlos' guitar is dwarfed by the percussionists' attack! Sometimes i run on the treadmill to this sucka and it always gets me pumped. If you love latin percussion & drumming this one is essential!

Sounds like a cool album! Is it the original (at least, what I think of as the original) Santana band? (Carlos, Rolie, Shrieve, Carabello, Areas, Brown).
