Black Sabbath: Purple Sabbath - 1983

Taken from the "Born Again" tour which featured Ian Gillan (Deep Purple) on lead vocals here's an excellent radio broadcast recording where you can even hear them perform "Smoke on the Water".
The show was recorded at the Worcester Centrum in Worcester, Mass, USA, on November 4th, 1983.

Sound Quality: A strong 9 !

Cara, seu blog é sensacional! Muita coisa boa por aqui...Você conhece algum bootleg do Black Sabbath, com o Ian Gillan,obviamente, que tem a música THRASED???
Eu conheço esse material - tenho-o original - e é soberbo! Uma apresentação deles em Stockholm,também é antológica,pois apresenta a faixa BORN AGAIN. Pena que o Gillan estava um pouco rouco...

Obrigado pelos elogios e acerca desse boot com a música Trashed não conheço. Desta época nos Sabbath estou a descarregar uma gravação das remixes de "Born Again" mas desconheço a qualidade. Se for boa colocarei aqui.

Thanks for this great post.I agree with Anonymous.I saw Sabbath October 21,1983 at the Montreal Forum..Nazareth was the opening act and I remember being disappointed that they played Digital Bitch but they didn't play Trashed..I still don't understand why.Nonetheless,Born Again was an under rated album and this concert brings back very hazy memories.

I have a copied cassette tape of this show wayback 1984. I was able to preserved the tape but not the quality. I transferred it to MP3 in 2003. Im glad yu have a very nice audio quality posted here!

born again was WAY more than an under rated album, IMO. agreed, it would've been impossible to top what sabbath had done previously, but considering ozzy and ian are 2 totally different style singers, that cd was as close and good as it could've gotten.

I was at this show. The broadcast here cut out several songs, "Disturbing The Priest", "Supernaut>Rock 'N' Roll Doctor" and another one...
